Alam anguished over inundated areas of Srinagar City | KNO

Srinagar , Aug 7 (KNO) : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) District President Srinagar and MLC Mohammad Khurshid Alam today visited Shehr-e- Khas areas including Khanyar, Aquilmir, Mir Masjid, Baba Demb, Rajouri Kadal and Kawdara to assess the situation arisen due to waterlogging.

Expressing anguish over the administrative apathy towards the city Alam urged Governor administration to speedup the water clearance in these areas to provide respite to the citizens. Expressing displeasure over thedefunct drainage system and continous failure of the local public respresentatives having represented the area for decades to address this grave issue.Alam said that during a small shower the entire city gets logged in water.

Alam demanded that a comprehensive drainage of the entire Srinagar city is the need of the hour which has not been so far addressed nor prepared. Khurshid Alam while talking to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar asked him to ensure speedy water clearance from these inundated areas.
